The veterinarians of Paces Ferry Veterinary Clinic have a dedication to the animals of Vinings, Georgia, and the greater Atlanta, Georgia, areas. Day in and day out, through their work at the hospital and the extra hours they put in volunteering their services at shelters and rescues, they make a powerful impact on our community's pets. Our veterinary staff is the true backbone of our hospital. Veterinary technicians, assistants, receptionists, and all our support staff play an integral role in keeping our hospital humming and giving each of our patients and clients the very best experience. Our Veterinarians
Steven M. Whittle DVM
Dr. Whittle is originally from Louisville, KY. He earned a Bachelor of Animal Science degree from the University of Kentucky, and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University. He has been in practice since 1990 and is the proud owner of Paces Ferry Veterinary Clinic since 1998. He purchased the practice from his retired partners, Dr. Johnson and Dr. Wylie, who started the practice in 1971. Dr. Whittle’s practice philosophy is “what would I do if this were my pet?” and his pets are his children.
Dr. Whittle is married to his wife and business partner, Fran, who he met in 1987 attending Auburn University. They have been happily married since 1991 and have two daughters, twin boys, a sweet Golden Retriever, Charlie, a Boykin Spaniel, Lola, and cats, Cupcake and Percy.
Dr. Whittle is loved by all of his staff and his clients. He loves to cook, do volunteer work with his church, and spend time with his family.
Jenine C. Minicozzi DVM
Dr. Minicozzi has been with Paces Ferry Veterinary since May of 2002. She is a native of Atlanta and received both her Bachelor of Science in biology and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia. Dr. Minicozzi’s interest includes geriatric medicine and building the doctor-client relationship.
Dr. Minicozzi has a son named Jack and a daughter named Mia. She has a chocolate Lab, Spike, a Chihuahua, Frida, and a cat named Vesper. She enjoys banjo playing in her free time.
Kelly Warner DVM
Dr. Warner received her Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Colby College in Waterville, Maine, in 2002. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Following graduation, Dr. Warner completed a one-year rotating internship at Georgia Veterinary Specialists. Her areas of interest include internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.
Dr. Warner lives in Smyrna with her husband, Nick, daughter, Cara, and sons, Colin and Sean. She has a Golden Retriever named Luke and a cat named Zoe. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, camping, and traveling with her family.
Laura D. Hardeman DVM
Dr. Hardeman received both her bachelor's degree in animal science as well as her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University. She worked at Paces Ferry Veterinary Clinic as an assistant before going to veterinary school. Dr. Hardeman’s interests include surgery and geriatric medicine.
She shares her home with her fluffy Maltese Mia and Grimace, and her cat, Zoe. She enjoys reading and spending time outdoors.
Katie E. Hogan DVM
Dr. Hogan received her Bachelor Degree in Animal Science and Biological Science, as well as her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia. Originally from Johns Creek, GA, her special interests include internal medicine, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Hogan shares her home with her beagle mix Mavis, and her cat Zoe. In her free time, Dr. Hogan enjoys playing the viola, and hiking with Mavis.
Anna Mathews DVM
Dr Mathews is from Milton, GA. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science then went on to veterinary school graduating in May 2022. In her spare time she enjoys riding her horse Killian, spending time with her family, and participating in church activities.
